Turley: Congress should limit use of State Secrets privilege
Constitutional Law Professor Jonathan Turley tells Keith Olbermann that governmhent has misused the State Secrets privilege in court. The privilege is now often used to keep evidence out of court that would otherwise be damaging to the governemnt instead of protecting national security.
Turley says, “The [State Secrets] privilege is now a tool used to protect the government from its own crimes. And that’s what we need to work on.”
