French daredevil scales New York Times building
A French skyscraper climber has been taken into custody after scaling the New York Times building in midtown Manhattan to draw attention to global warming.
During his ascent, Alain Robert unfurled a banner about global warming. Construction workers cheered.
Police took him into custody at the top of the new 52-story tower, designed by Renzo Piano.
In February, the daredevil, who’s nicknamed “Spiderman,” scaled a 42-floor building in Brazil.
Robert’s Web site says he has climbed more than 70 skyscrapers around the world.
