Richard Clarke: Scott McClellan asked for forgiveness
Author Richard Clarke discusses the newly released Senate Intelligence Report. which says both the State and Energy Department intelligence agencies raised red flags concerning the Bush Administrations WMD claims in Iraq . Sen. John McCain made comments last week that every intelligence agency believed the WMD reports.
Richard Clarke suggest to Keith Olbermann that Bush Administration officials that lied about Iraq intelligence “shouldn’t be let back into society” without paying a price. Clarke said that a “truth and reconciliation” committee may be required if officials do not come forward to admit they lied.
Clarke pointed out that Scott McClellen was one of the former Bush Administration officials that had come forward to talk about how the White House misused intelligence in the run-up to war. Clarke said that, in a chance meeting, McClellan had asked to be forgiven for his conduct while in the White House.
