Bush concedes ‘tough month’ in Afghanistan
(AP) President Bush said Wednesday it has been a ‘tough month’ in Afghanistan, where more U.S. and NATO troops died during the past two months than in Iraq. In June, 28 were killed in action — the deadliest month since the 2002 invasion.
Admiral Mike Mullen told reporters that more troops are needed in Afghanistan. Mullen said that more troops were not possible for the Afghan war until the situation changed in Iraq.
