Iraq prisoner ‘segregation boxes’ raise concern
CNN’s Barbara Starr reports on wooden crates the US Military uses in Iraq to hold prisoners. The boxes measure 3 feet square and about 6 feet tall.
Human rights advocates are concerned about how the military treats prisoners it puts inside of the boxes. Jennifer Daskal of Human Rights Watch said, “There is concern that they could be used in places where detainees are enclosed in extremely hot conditions.”
The military insists the boxes are humane and are checked every 15 minutes.
