Leahy argues for ‘middle ground’ with truth commission
Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont wants his fellow Senators to consider creating a commission to investigate torture by Bush administration officials. Leahy argued that a truth commission represents “a middle ground” between doing nothing and prosecutions which could fail from not having enough evidence. “A failed attempt to prosecute for this misconduct might be the worst result of all,” explained Leahy.
