Tennessee bill would allow guns in bars
The Tennessee House has passed a bill that would allow guns to be carried in bars where alcohol is served. Tennessee State Senator Doug Jackson told Fox’s Brian Kilmeade that he sponsored the bill because there is no reason to restrict citizens from carrying guns in bars.
“If we look at other states and their experiences, what we see are millions and millions of citizens that are allowed to do so and they do so without incident or problem,” said Jackson.
Maggi McClean Duncan is Director of the Tennessee Association of Chief of Police. Duncan’s association is against the effort to allow guns in bars. “We currently have had some situations where that — where guns have been in the presence where alcohol is,” said Duncan. “Some may have been drinking and utilized a gun recently here in tennessee.”
