Coulter: Obama a better comedian than president
President Barack Obama has been praised for his delivery of jokes at Saturday night’s White House Correspondents Association Dinner but Ann Coulter used the occasion to take a swipe at the president.
At the Saturday dinner, Obama poked fun at birthers, Jay Leno, Sarah Palin, Michael Steele, Scott Brown, John McCain and many others.
Comedian Carlos Mencia raved over the president’s delivery. “You know what? He was really great. And to hear the president who has that kind of power, who actually knows these people telling, you know, jokes like that that are edgy. It was amazing,” Mencia told Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera Sunday.
“I don’t think that, last night, any of us, you know, professionals could have done of as good of a job making the audience laugh as he did just because he is the commander in chief and he did say stuff like that. It was brilliant. I thought it was great,” said Mencia.
Also appearing on Fox News along with Mencia, Coulter did not begrudge the president a night off to tell jokes.
“He is a better comedian than he is a president,” said Coulter.
“Carlos, that may be the best line of the night,” prompted Rivera.
“I love Ann Coulter and I really mean that,” said Mencia. “You know how to rile people up. You know how to get people to say, ‘I can’t believe she said that.'”
“That’s a great opinion. I don’t agree with it but it’s a great opinion,” concluded Mencia.
“It’s a gift,” replied Coulter.
Mediate‘s Colby Hall first noticed Coulter’s remarks.
