Watch: Hawaii ‘fire tornado’ caught on film
A tornado made of fire? Yes, it is possible.
Strong winds combined with aggressive brush fires created the conditions for a rare “fire tornado” on Hawaii’s Big Island last week.
State officials battling to contain the blaze captured this footage of winds whipping brush fires into a funnel-like shape.
Authorities say the fire burned some 1,400 acres, according to KITV in Honolulu.
No injuries were reported.
