BBC Miriam O’Reilly scandal sparks debate on ageism in the media
After a colleague offered Miriam hair dye and another told her “it’s time for botox,” the BBC eventually took the veteran TV presenter off air. O’Reilly fought back, and won a landmark case last month that has sparked debate about age-discrimination in TV and film.
“We have a long way to go with ageism in the media–it’s not just the BBC,” said O’Reilly at a press conference.
