‘Face the Nation’ ignores Herman Cain’s candidacy
Former Godfather’s Pizza CEO and GOP 2012 hopeful Herman Cain doesn’t have a political background, and polling shows that he doesn’t have great name recognition — low enough, in fact, that “Face the Nation” seems to have forgotten that he’s running.
In a segment this morning discussing the results of a recent Des Moines Register poll about the Republican candidates, “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer didn’t mention Cain in his summary, listing Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Gov. Mitt Romney as the leaders of the pack, and then saying “Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul are next with 7 percent.”
Cain, who garnered 10 percent in the poll, should occupy the slot. He’s not included in the graphic of poll results, either.
