Greek austerity protests turn violent
BBC News reported that protests in Athens, Greece turned violent Tuesday as police fired tear gas at stone-throwing youths.
Prime Minister George Papandreou urged the Greek parliament Monday to pass drastic austerity measures and keep the bankruptcy-threatened country “on its feet.”
The country could run out of money within weeks if the package is not passed.
