Cantor’s version of debt talks ‘completely overblown’
A Democratic aide present at the debt talks between prominent Republicans and President Barack Obama said that Rep. Eric Cantor’s (R-VA) claim that the president “stormed out” of the meeting was completely overblown, Ed Schultz reported on MSNBC Wednesday night.
Schultz said that Republicans have been trying to chip away at New Deal programs like Social Security and Medicare for decades.
He discussed the debt talks with The Hill correspondent Sam Youngman and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
