Top Iowa staffers abandon the Cain campaign
Herman Cain’s top two staffers in Iowa have left their posts over the candidate’s alleged refusal to put forth a serious effort in that state, home of the first presidential primaries of the 2012 election cycle. Politico is reporting that Cain’s Iowa campaign director Tina Goff has resigned, as well as Straw Poll coordinator Kevin Hall.
The resignations come in the wake of the departure of the campaign’s sole representative in New Hampshire. GOP strategist Matt Murphy left the Cain campaign without any representation whatsoever in the Granite State when he resigned on June 27.
Former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Cain has yet to release his quarterly fundraising numbers.
