France holds 43rd annual World Snail Racing Championship
The small village of Lagardere in France recently held the 43rd annual World Snail Racing Championship. The losers become escargot, a French appetizer, and the winner is set free.
“It’s great,” said one participant. “It’s a lot of fun. It’s all about nature and it’s something different from what we usually see. It’s a little bit like horse racing with a bit of passion, and there you go.”
