Minnesota man faces jail time for feeding birds in his backyard
A Minnesota man faces up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine for throwing bird feed on the ground in his backyard, a violation of a city ordinance that prohibits residents from feeding wild animals.
Bird feeders are legal to use but only if they are 5 feet off the ground.
His neighbors complained that the bird feed in his backyard brought rodents into the area.
