India creates world’s cheapest computer tablet
The company Datawind has developed a book-sized computer that costs only $45, making it the world’s cheapest computer tablet. It was created in India, where the government plans to make more than 100,0000 of the computers available to university students across the country. The new tablet is called the “Aakash.”
“Today, we see the beginning of dream realized. A dream in which every student, in every corner of this country, will have access to technology,” said Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal.
