Report: TSA agent fired for hateful comments about Muslims
An ABC News affiliate in Chicago reported yesterday that a baggage screener for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been fired after authorities discovered that his Facebook page contained hateful, violent language against Muslims and elected U.S. officials.
Among his comments, officer Roy Egan wrote, “Islam is a cult that glorifies death,” and said that all Muslims should be wiped out. Some of his other statements targeted other minority groups. He even called President Barack Obama the “Muslim-in-chief” and said that he hopes Attorney General Eric Holder dies tasting his own blood.
Even though Egan insisted he never brought that type of rhetoric to his job, officials decided he was in breach of a TSA policy that requires professional conduct even outside of the workplace. And even though he wants to take legal action against the agency, Egan confessed on Facebook that he cannot find an attorney to take his case.
He insists that he’s not a racist.
