Utah woman and son rescued after Facebook call for help
A Utah woman had been held hostage for nearly five days by her domestic partner, raped and beaten when she managed to sneak into a closet with a laptop and post a cry for help on the social networking site Facebook. In this video from Fox News, America Live host Megyn Kelly discusses the case with correspondent Trace Gallagher.
Gallagher says that the victim has chosen not to reveal her name, but that the perpetrator charged in the incident is Troy Critchfield, who apparently went on a rampage, cutting off the woman and her 17-year-old son from the outside world by smashing the boy’s cell phone and refusing to let them leave the house.
The woman was only able to call for help by sneaking into a closet with a laptop and quickly dashing off a Facebook message that said she and her son would be “dead by morning” if they did not get help. Police were summoned and Critchfield was taken into custody. He is currently in jail and facing an array of charges.
