Stewart: Low tax rate encourages Romney’s betting
Jon Stewart discussed the ever changing story of Mitt Romney and the release of his tax returns Tuesday night.
The Daily Show host was nothing short of outraged over how Romney’s tax rate is lower than those shared by middle class families.
“The guy doesn’t even have a job, that job is interest,” Stewart said. “That’s the kind of money that might lead a man to make stupidly extravagant out of touch impulse bets.”
“That’s why when he throws that out of there like 10,000 bucks, ‘I’ll bet you what ever I make in the time it takes me to finish this sentence.'”
Stewart added: “How in the world do you, Mitt Romney, justify making more in one day than the median American family makes in a year, while paying an effective tax rate than the guy that has to scan your shoes at the airport?”
