Biden: Guns should fire chocolate bullets because ‘people love chocolate’
In a handwritten letter sent in response to a Milwaukee second-grader, Vice President Joe Biden agreed with the boy’s recommendation to make only guns that fire chocolate bullets, explaining that he likes the idea because “people love chocolate.”
A copy of the letter was obtained Monday by The Associated Press. Teachers at the boy’s school, Downtown Montessori Academy, told reporter M.L. Johnson that they couldn’t stop talking about Biden’s response.
“Everybody was impressed. You should have seen everybody. Their faces were just wide-eyed,” school administrator Virginia Flynn told the AP. “The fact that it was handwritten made it really special.”
The letter reads: “Dear Myles, I am sorry it took me so very long to respond to your letter. I really like your idea. If we had guns that shot chocolate, not only would our country be safer, it would be happier. People love chocolate. You are a good boy. – Joe Biden.”
The letter was also sent to Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) and President Barack Obama at the prompting of the boy’s teacher, but only Biden responded personally.
