Chinese animators rip NYPD with video of cop crawling up a black man’s rear
If the racial disparities of New York City’s arrest statistics don’t shock you, maybe this will: Chinese animators known for creating bizarre parodies of U.S. news have released a new video ripping the NYPD’s “stop and frisk” policy that shows a cop literally crawling up a black man’s rear end.
It’s so over the top, the video is enough to cause one to stop and wonder what it really means when a Chinese animation studio is getting this kind of laughs off the behavior of an American police force.
The clip, put together by Next Media Animation, specifically quotes an NYPD stop and frisk training video released earlier this week as part of an ongoing trial in a class-action lawsuit over the department’s policy.
“When frisking a suspect, do your job thoroughly,” the video instructs officers. “Don’t be shy about going into the crotch area.”
The animated officer in the video below certainly takes that mandate seriously.
