Chris Brown accused of assaulting woman at California nightclub
A 24-year-old California woman says that she made need surgery after being assaulted by Chris Brown on Saturday night.
Deanna Gines told TMZ that Brown deliberately “shoved her to the ground” while she was in the VIP section of the Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim. Brown had performed at the club earlier in the evening.
Anaheim police confirmed to TMZ that someone at the club did file a police report for assault, but would not disclose details about the case.
According to Gines, doctors have said she has torn ligaments in her right knee.
On the way home from a pre-Grammy’s party in 2009, an argument between brown and then-girlfriend Rihanna turned into a violent assault. A photo later released by TMZ showed that Rihanna’s face had suffered a horrific beating at the hands of Brown.
Brown eventually pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to five years probation and one year of domestic violence counseling.
“I did my 52 weeks of counseling and learned that it’s absolutely wrong,” the singer insisted to NBC’s Matt Lauer earlier this year. “It was domestic violence counseling, a 52-week program. Every Monday in Virginia, you know, I remember going and, you know, just sitting in there and just like, you know, why did I do what I did?”
“And you’re sure it would never happen again?” Lauer pressed.
“Absolutely,” Brown laughed.
