Vatican recalls papal medal after Jesus’ name misspelled
A major misspelling has prompted the Vatican to recall a medal it commissioned to commemorate the pontification of Pope Francis.
The medal, which was produced by the Italian State Mint, featured a Latin inscription of a quotation that moved the future pope to the priesthood.
However, the medal had already gone on sale before the misspelling of Jesus’ name as “Lesus” was noticed.
Four medals were bought through the Vatican Publishing House before the recall.
Apparently Vatican withdrawing #PopeFrancis medal cuz has "Lesus" instead of "Jesus." The 4 already sold will be collector's items.
