‘I beat women': victim gives assailant a choice; humiliation or jail
A Tampa, Fla. woman presented the man who bloodied her face, broke her nose and gave her a concussion a choice. Go to jail, or face public humiliation.
Her attacker chose the latter. For eight hours, the unnamed man sat on a stool in a dunce cap with a sign that read: “I BEAT WOMEN. HONK IF I’M A SCUMBAG,” written in black marker.
Alisha Hessler told ABC affiliate WFTS-TV that the man came along with friends for a night of clubbing on Dec. 14, and tried to reach up her skirt while they were riding together. When she said no and tried to push him away, he beat her up.
Hessler found the man on Facebook after speaking with police and returning from the hospital, and said “I can either press charges and have you arrested for a year or I can have you sit outside at a busy intersection for eight hours holding up a sign that says I beat women,” Hessler told WFTS.
