Motorcyclist offers to race Lamborghini, dies after hitting BMW
Note to self: Do not offer to race Lamborghinis.
A motorcyclist in Los Angeles who offered to race a Lamborghini was killed Sunday after striking a parked BMW and being ejected from his bike, police say.
The driver, offered the chance to race, reportedly refused.
“When the driver refused to race, the motorcyclist reportedly revved his bike and sped away,” KTLA News reported. “But he ended up slamming into the back of a nearby BMW.”
“When he took off, he unfortunately didn’t see a vehicle that was up ahead of him and he collided into the rear of that vehicle,” LAPD Captain Rolando Solano told the station. ”
Unless you’re a jet, racing a Lamborghini isn’t generally a smart idea: current models have a maximum speed just north of 200 miles per hour and can achieve zero to sixty mile per hour speeds in under four seconds. They’re also cars that tend to draw unwanted attention: the Lamborghini Gallardo was the car that Justin Bieber got pulled over for drag racing in January.
