Florida man threatens neighbor with hand grenade after loud music complaint
Deputies in Orange County, Florida, arrested a man Friday night after he threatened a neighbor with a hand grenade.
According to WFTV 9, the victim requested that Timothy Bare, 32, turn down the music at his Harbour Beach condo.
The victim claimed that he had already asked Bare to turn down his music several times when he brandished a hand grenade and threatened to throw it into the victim’s residence.
Investigators arrived to find an intoxicated Bare in his home with the hand grenade but could not confirm at the time whether the grenade was live or inert.
An evacuation was ordered officers and the sheriff’s office Hazardous Device Team recovered the device.
Although the bottom of the grenade was hollowed out, police could not be determined whether it was still active.
Lt. Paul Hopkins with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office explained, “Though the grenade could not explode, it still had a possible live fuse inside, which was a danger.”
The grenade is to be destroyed by the Hazardous Device Team.
