Las Vegas woman says demons ordered her to drown her 3-year-old son in a bathtub
A Nevada woman told police that demons ordered her to drown her 3-year-old son in a bathtub.
Christine Allen, 30, of Las Vegas, has been charged with one count of open murder in the boy’s death.
Allen told police that she was depressed as she lay in bed Saturday while her son, Noah Lane Allen, took a bath.
Then, she said, it “was like a demon inside of me took over.”
She told investigators that she went into the bathroom and asked the boy if he wanted to go swimming, and he said yes.
So Allen climbed into the tub with her son and held his head underwater as he struggled.
The boy managed to get his head above water and told his mother he didn’t want to go swimming, but police said she pushed his head back under the surface until he drowned.
Allen told police that she was depressed because she was getting evicted from her apartment and her ex-husband was not offering any support for their son.
She told police that she believed the boy would be better off with God instead of living in a split family, so she went along with the voices in her head.
Allen is due to be arraigned Wednesday in Las Vegas Township Justice Court.
