Delaware gov. tweets racy photo of ‘Gypsy queen’ — wishes it had been a cat video instead
Staffers for Delaware Democratic governor Jack Markell claim they don’t know how or why a tweet about his new education initiative featured a photograph of a yellow-haired woman wearing nothing but black leather straps associated with certain sexual subcultures:

The tweet — which was made while the governor himself was at an event at Warner Elementary in Wilmington — was quickly deleted.
Governor Markell and his staff are said to be “looking into” how the photograph became attached to that tweet.
He posted an apology on his official account sixteen minutes after WHYY reporter Shirley Min posted a screen capture of the original:
An inappropriate photo was inadvertantly sent out earlier. We are looking into how this occurred but apologize to anyone who was offended.

The photograph was of a “Gypsy queen, Estonian model, singer, photo editor & wardrobe stylist” named Precious Little, who tweeted the following about the incident:
Regarding an image tweeted of me today, it was a harmless selfie/candid from a photoshoot years ago. I believe it was an honest accident.

The governor’s office released a statement acknowledging that “[d]uring this morning’s event, a tweet was composed with a link to what was supposed to be a picture that had just been uploaded to the internet of the Governor’s education announcement. While the tweet was being edited, the auto-generated link for the picture was inadvertently altered.”
“As a result,” it continued, “the picture linked to the tweet was a random, unrelated, and inappropriate picture that has been on the internet since 2010, and not the just-uploaded picture of the event. The tweet was deleted and we apologize for the error. The lessons here are not to compose tweets too quickly and there is a lot of odd stuff on the internet. We just wish the accidental link had been a cat video.”
