Naked California man breaks into home during freezing temps in bizarre Christmas Day burglary
A Northern California couple got a Christmas surprise Friday and it wasn’t Santa Claus.
Police arrested Adam Pettibone, 28, after receiving a call of a naked man standing near a house in Auburn, a town just north of Sacramento, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Pettibone allegedly broke into a home just before 8 p.m. Friday. He was completely nude even though temperatures dipped to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The man had allegedly stolen a purse from the home and was chased away by the victim’s boyfriend.
Police told reporters Pettibone got into an SUV, while still nude, and drove away. He tried to run over the boyfriend. He hit him with the car but the man was not injured.
Auburn police found Pettibone and the stolen purse and arrested him a short time later, the Bee reports. He is being held on $250,000 bail on charges of burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
