Breaking News Photo: Cindy Sheehan was one of about 200 protesters courting arrest at a civil disobedience demonstration at the White House today, Monday September 26, 2005. Several hundred or more protesters lined Pennsylvania Avenue to protest the administration and the war in Iraq. Pictured above, with a photo of her late son Army Specialist Casey Sheehan draped around her neck, Cindy was the first removed from the sidewalk and escorted to one of several waiting police vehicles.
AP: "Police warned them three times that they were breaking the law by failing to move along, then began making arrests. One man climbed over the White House fence and was quickly subdued by Secret Service agents.
"Sheehan, 48, was the first taken into custody. She smiled as she was carried to the curb, then stood up and walked to a police vehicle while protesters chanted, "The whole world is watching."
