1ST LEAD: Congo tense as sporadic fighting continues in Kinshasa

Kinshasa/Nairobi- Renewed gunfire was heard early Tuesday in the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) capital Kinshasa after 14 diplomatic envoys were evacuated from Vice President Jean-Pierre Bemba's residence after his house came under heavy gunfire overnight. "The situation is very confused with fighting still continuing in parts of the city, and while we dont know exactly where it is, I can hear hear shooting from here," Kemal Saiki, spokesperson for the United Nations Mission in DRC (MONUC) told Deutsche Presse-Agentur
