German school bus crashes off road after head-on collision

Kassel, Germany- A school bus careered off a road in Germany on Monday after a head-on collision in which a car driver was killed and 23 children on the bus injured. Police said it was lucky the bus did not overturn in the collision on a highway near the central town of Homberg-an-der-Efze. The bus slithered down a bank.

"The 50-year-old driver of the car, who was driving home after working a night shift, was killed instantly," a police spokesman said. The 39 children in the bus were on their way to secondary schools in Homberg. None of the injured were critically hurt.
