Seinfeld's 'Kramer' apologizes on Letterman

Michael Richards, who played oddball neighbor Kramer on TV's "Seinfeld" for nine seasons, has generated a firestorm across the country for his profane, epithet-ridden tirade directed at African-American audience members who had heckled him during a performance at a comedy club.

He apologized via satellite on tonight's "Late Show with David Letterman," during Jerry Seinfeld's appearance on the show.
