The group has examined Congressional and Federal Elections Commission records related to Boehner's "Freedom Project" leadership PAC and found that Boehner has regularly accepted trips paid for by corporations with interests in legislation that was at the time before Congress. While some of these incidents were simply travel on corporation-owned private jets, others were golfing and foreign vacations that Boehner listed as "fact finding" trips.
Boehner is also a powerful moneyman for GOP candidates, the report alleges, channeling millions to other candidates. Public Integrity implies that this most likely helped Boehner secure his current position of leadership.
None of these activities are currently illegal, the report notes.
