House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has responded to criticism from House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) by calling him a "desperate man," RAW STORY has learned.
Hastert yesterday issued a statement singling Pelosi out, claiming that "the same terrorists who plan to harm innocent Americans and their freedom worldwide would be coddled, if we followed the Democrat plan."
Responding to the comments, Pelosi called Hastert "a desperate man," and pointed out that her criticisms were echoed by former Secretary of State Colin Powell. "Would you think that anybody in our country wants to coddle terrorists?" she asked.
"I feel sad for the speaker," she concluded, "that he would have to stoop to that level."
