The Daily Show's Jon Stewart skewers the hype surrounding the recent arrest of seven alleged would-be terrorists, purportedly involved in a plot to destroy the Sears Tower in Chicago, as "one imaginary disaster averted." The accused men are reported to have had no operational plan, money or weapons, and are believed to lack the mental capacity to carry out the destruction of Chicago's tallest building.

After their arrest in Miami, the Bush Administration conducted a media blitz, designed, many believe, to show the effectiveness of the "war on terror." In his usual irreverent style, Stewart highlights statements by the administration that seem to indicate that the seven "terrorists" posed little threat.

"No weapons, no actual contact with al Qaeda," Stewart notes, "but one of them had been to Chicago. By that standard, I believe [film critics Ebert and Roeper] may be a terror cell."
