A report on ABC's Good Morning America on Wednesday highlighted the crisis the Department of Veterans Affairs is now facing due to the large numbers of soldiers reutrning with traumatic brain injuries, or TBIs. The report comes on the heels of an announcement by the Department of Veterans Affairs that it will begin screening all combat veterans for TBIs.

"The widespread and constant use of improvised explosive devices is clearly spawning a new type of injury, specifically this TBI, traumatic brain injury, literally, where the brain is rattled by an explosion. Sometimes there can be no outward signs of these wounds which does make them tough to diagnose," said the report.

"The VA is coming apart at the seams," said Paul Rieckhoff, executive director and founder of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.
