Juan is saying the money from union members is going to the Democratic Party. That is called framing the issue. Shepard mentions the top 7 being Corporations, that is okay. Let’s attack the bottom three which so happens to be wink wink nudge nudge “unions”which so happens to donate to the Democratic Party. The botton three is the target. The top seven is left alone.

Juan then slips in this:

Shepard then squeezes in the Constitutional arguement that we really shouldn’t be organizing government workers. The two did the framing of the issue, the trick, the dirty slight of hand.

The above is a Frank Luntz trick. It’s getting obvious to the American people that the Republicans governors around the country are getting political, such as Gov Walker in Wisconsin, the Republicans are worried that it may hurt their 2012 chances. So here comes Fox News to the rescue making use of the Frank Luntz playbook.

Frank Luntz says the first thing to do is start out with things people agree to. In this case it would be suicidal for Fox to try and deny Gov Walker isn’t political or try to deny that the Republican governors attack on union is random and not a coordinated effort. Get that out of the way, which they did. By doing so we all go yep, yep Koch brothers, yep you got it right. Then WAM!!! you hit the public with the framing of the issue which is, roll the drums please, bad teachers, union money going to Democrats, the debate whether it is constitutional for public workers to organize, in other words all of the Koch brothers favorite topics. Fox scores 1 for the Kochs.

Once Fox framed the issue just the way the Kochs want it framed. We no longer talk about the Koch brothers, about the top 7 money donors which all go to Republicans, about Fox supporting these same governors.

It used to be that those “extraordinary” benefits used to be pretty much standard (except for some of the early retirement provisions).

Shep got it only part right—Walker’s program is about union busting, privatizing energy production, selling off state resources and dismantling Wisconsin’s Medicaid program. Anywhere else Smith would have been panned for his incompleteness, but since it is The Fox Entertainment Channel he gets Kudos for revealing even one item in the Koch financed Wisconsin deconstruction.

We now know that Walker’s budget bill is not about the budget at all. He has already succeeded in getting the union to accept his financial demands, but he’s holding out for the impossible removal of the collective bargaining rights, which have nothing to do with budgets.

No, what Walker really wants is the poison pill embedded in the budget bill; the right for him to sell off state-owned assets of our power plants using a no-bid process. And incidentally, the Billionaire energy tycoons, the Koch Brothers from Texas and his fourth largest campaign contributors, are standing in the wings.

He is there because he has great ratings. If they plummet he will be fired. If they stay up, he stays. It is not an act. He said what he felt.

Alan Combs was fired. Basically because he has no appeal, is not too bright, and nobody liked listening to him. He let Hannity walk all over him and was frequently very bad at defending his positions. He was the perfect patsy to give the false “fair and balanced” look, yet HE was fired. They took any balance out of that show. But that decision was based on ratings.

I have posted this to others, so sorry for the redundancy, but he will not be fired as long as his ratings are up. If they ever go down, he will be fired. It’s a ratings and money game. Shep brings in good revenue. He is not radical left, etc. He speaks his mind and does not care if it follows the party line. Good for him. That’s probably why he has good ratings.

They keep him because his ratings are good. The fired Combs because his ratings were bad. Nothing to do with “allowing” him on. If his ratings plummet, he is gone. It’s not much more complex than that.

So a guy who actually speaks his mind is a “token”? The reality is that he IS a newsman. A “token” is when you hire someone to fill a politically correct situation, etc, and then you control what they say or do. Shep does whatever he wants. Why? He has great ratings. If his ratings went down, he would be fired. A “token” would not be fired if their ratings went down. There is revenue involved. It’s about the money. Shep generates revenue, and a lot of the reason why is because he speaks his mind. And he does it without the nonsensical rhetoric you get from many Right and Left Wing talking heads. He deserves credit for that.

Shep is a actor.Do not be fooled by Faux news and their rather lame attempt at pretending they are a news organization. This was staged for the record book so faux can claim they do not lie. Does any one really think if Shep said something off script like the truth, would he still be around?I dont think so.

He has good Ratings. It’s not any more complex than that. If they ever plummet, he goes. If they remain high, he stays.
