The only difference between women slaves from the old south and women soldiers in the “new” military is they get paid by the “Masters of War.”

Well, they’re not really suing the Pentagon. They’re suing the average taxpayer. The Pentagon is fully funded by Joe Schmoe, et al.

And how great is this, eh? Amerikan females sue the Pentagon for having been raped while serving in the military in countries like Afghanistan which were invaded to…hmmm…liberate the Afghan women from oppression, sexual exploitation, ill treatment, blah blah blah. You just can’t make this shit up, eh? I wonder if now the US is going to invade itself to liberate its own oppressed and sexually battered women.

I hope they get as much money as they can and I hope that they finally force the military to change the policies that allow individual commanders to ignore charges of rape if they want. I don’t know why any woman or man in gay or straight in their right fuckin’ min would want to be in the military, but if they decide that is what they want to do they should at least be given protection against rape and other forms of sexual harassment. And when those actions do occur their complaints about them should be taken seriously and not dismissed. Of coure, our society has a hard time taking such complaints seriously in civilian life as well so maybe the military isn’t all that special in this regard.

Charges of rape brought against workers for private contractors have been ignored and the women have been denied justice in those cases, too. Let’s face it, the Bush administration and the people who controlled the law and rule making functions in Iraq countenanced a wild west free market no holds barred no rules an regulations governing anyone atmosphere where all behavior was legal not matter how depraved. That is what the free market types wanted and that is what they got and under such rules women were raped and will be again.

The same things happened to people in Egypt, Anderson Cooper was attacked by the secret police, and he left, Lara Logan was attacked and held by the secret police and when they released her she chose to stay an within a short time she was surrounded by about 200 men from somewhere and brutally gang raped. Who did it remains a mystery but my money’s riding on the secret police who had earlier arrested her.

It’s too bad that some here feel conflicted by justice for these women because their tax dollars are going to pay for the compensation in these cases, That’s life! Your tax dollars also go to pay for police brutality and other government malfunctions, when private companies screw people over and they lose court cases I never hear people complaining about how the prices for those services went up because the company has to make up the difference, they don’t even care, most of the time they don’t even know, they pay the extra money and go about their business. But when “the government” controlled an run by some of the same people has to pay, it becomes ironical and paradoxical and so damn unfair on so many levels.

The reports of female military personnel being sexually assaulted go way back ….and still it goes on and still it goes underreported. They may be in fact suing the US taxpayer but if it embarrasses the military to act, then it worth it.
Problem is, too many of those in command are religious fundies who don’t want women, or gays, or non christians in the military anyway. They’re the ones encouraging and turning a blind eye to harassment of all kinds.

I was harassed mercilessly while in the Air Force, but my CO made sure those guys were reprimanded. They left me alone after that, and fortunately I was never physically assaulted. The COs of these women should be prosecuted.

According to the pentagon 1 of 3 women in military gets assaulted that is insane. But then again the military does not people with a conscience or to feel remorse for actions.

Separate the women and men; then, it will be less of a problem.

P.S., We don’t need US soldiers in some of the bases their in all around the world. Bring them home! It’s not the job of the USA to be a policeman for the world; and, we need to close down/sell many of those to the countries they are in. Get rid of foreign bases that we don’t need.
