NBC News’ Lee Cowen called it “voyeurism at its finest” — but he was the Smithsonian’s animal paparazzi adventure called Smithsonian WILD. Using motion-activated cameras, Smithsonian researchers and others gathered more than 202,000 candid photographs of more than 200 different mammals and birds and put them all up on a separate website for everyone to see.
