Rep. Allen West (R-FL) was asked by a Florida college student whether he thought it appropriate that the kid could be expelled from college for smoking weed. West said, in effect, yes.
As originally transcribed by Brandon Thorp of the Broward Palm Beach New Times, West said, “You shouldn’t be smoking marijuana if you know you’re gonna have consequences… You have to make decisions for yourself. Don’t hold me accountable because you chose to go out and smoke marijuana.”
