Two billion people are estimated to watch next weekend’s royal wedding, and MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell takes extreme issue with that. Despite the three war fronts, radioactivity in Japan, the evolving 2012 presidential field and any number of other stories, the media’s collective lens will be turned on Will and Kate.

“It’s a good thing our television networks weren’t covering the Revolutionary War, because they obviously would have been on the side of the British,” he said of the American media’s fawning over the royal family.
