California company RoboDynamics has unveiled a five-foot-two-inch humanoid robot named Luna, which will cost $3,000 and can do household tasks, according to the company. The inventors boast that Luna can carry trays and even walk dogs. RoboDynamics has a goal to have “a robot in every household by 2021.”

Much like proud parents who obsessively chronicle their offspring’s early moments and first steps, the company has posted home video footage of Luna’s first run, complete with a Chariots of Fire background track. The video was recorded May 11, 2011 on an iPhone 4 and is embedded via YouTube.
