Airlines are enjoying a tax holiday after Congress failed to re-authorize the FAA Friday. But instead of passing those taxes savings onto the public, many airlines have actually raised ticket prices.
ABC News reported Tuesday that airlines are pocketing $200 million a week as long FAA is shutdown.
American, JetBlue, Southwest/AirTran and U.S. Airways actually raised fees in anticipation of the tax holiday. Delta and United/Continental, Frontier, and Virgin America raised their fees over the weekend.
