With the impending execution of Georgia death-row inmate Troy Davis dominating headlines in the U.S., sadly few have noticed that not one, but two executions in Texas have been put on hold by the U.S. Supreme Court in the last seven days.

Discussing the politics of capital punishment in the U.S., MSNBC liberal news host Rachel Maddow examined the cases of the men spared, and the man who’s condemned to die, and the one individual who’s approved more of them than any other American in modern times: Texas Governor Rick Perry.
