On MSNBC’s The Last Word, consumer advocate Ralph Nader addressed criticism that by running as a third party candidate and pressuring Democrats to challenge Obama in 2012, he was helping Republicans get elected.

“Nobody has criticized more profoundly in detail across 50 states the Republican Party’s indentured status to corporatism, its repudiation of some of the best conservative instincts going back many years — which now we would call progressive positions,” he said.

Earlier in the segment, Nader blasted the “liberal intelligensia” for failing to fight against the “corporate domination” of the United States, which President Franklin D. Roosevelt “called ‘fascism’ in a formal address to the Congress in 1938.”
