Musharraf removes uniform but retains powers

Pakistan President Musharraf stepped down as the country’s military leader during a ceremony Wednesday morning. Musharraf will retain his powers over the military while emergency rule is in place. The U.S. State department said Musharraf’s actions “a good first step” and called for the additional steps including the end of emergency rule.
