Journalists in Gaza refused to report on military operations by Israeli Defense Forces today as a protest over the killing of Reuters cameraman.

According to Reuters, Fadel Shana, a Reuters photojournalist, was killed by Israeli troops while filming in Gaza Strip on April 16, 2008. Reuters reports that Shana had been following standard press procedure, wearing a flak jacked marked with press symbols. His vehicle was also clearly marked with press stickers.

Shana’s own video tape reveal the final moments before his death.

Reuters has more details here. An ABC News report on the journalists’ protest in Gaza is here.

This video is from ABCNews.com, broadcast June 16, 2008.
