Via Yglesias, much of the focus on this Politico piece is on Richard Cohen’s insistence that criticism equals totalitarianism.

But the far stranger part is the fact that in a three-page article, the person they trust most to embody the Netroots critique of the media is…Eric Alterman. Now, I think Eric Alterman produces good stuff, and I think he does valuable work over at Media Matters. But it’s awfully telling how when covering a mass movement constructed of non-elites firing at their oversensitive newsmasters, the person they trust most is the former Nation columnist with the old MSNBC blog.

Tellingly, there are also pretty much only three blogs in existence – Daily Kos, TPM and Huffington Post. It’s a cold, cold world out here past where the internets end.
